Purple Blooms

Square blocks of pale lattice, each with a flower laid over it, march across a deep purple cloth. Seen at the Karnival Komuniti Kraf 2025.

The pattern

Tap a part to see where it is on the cloth.

1. 1The lattice blocksEach block is a grid of linked oval rings, like a little woven screen. The blocks repeat in a staggered pattern across the cloth.
2. 2The flower on topA five-petal flower sits over the lattice in every block, with leaves sprouting from its stem.
3. 3The leaf spraysCurling leaves spill out from the corners of the blocks and soften their square edges.
4. 4Where the wax wasThe pale shapes are the parts the wax covered, so the purple dye never reached them. Their edges are soft where the dye crept in.
